Australian captain Pat Cummins created history in the IPL auction. Cummins has become the second most expensive selling player in IPL history. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought the Australian captain with a base price of Rs 2 crore for Rs 20.5 crore. Whereas Mitchell Starc was bought by KKR for Rs 24.75 crore (about 2,982,000 US dollars), which is the most expensive player till date.
2. (a) IIT Kanpur
Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Navy at Naval Headquarters. Its objective is to promote technology development, innovative solutions and joint research and development. Rear Admiral K Srinivas, Head of Support Materiel (Dockyard and Refits) and Prof. S. Ganesh signed this MoU.
3. (b) Haryana
In the Khelo India Para Games (KIPG) organized for the first time, Haryana state topped the medal table by securing the maximum number of medals. Haryana won a total of 105 medals including 40 gold, 39 silver and 26 bronze. Khelo India Para Games was started on 10 December in New Delhi. Uttar Pradesh stood second with 62 medals, including 25 gold, 23 silver and 14 bronze, while Tamil Nadu stood third with 20 gold, eight silver and 14 bronze.
4. (c) Asian Development Bank
The Government of India and the Asian Development Bank have signed a loan of 37 billion Japanese Yen for the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System Corridor. Under this, the 82 km long Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor is being developed.

Former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Raman Singh has been unanimously elected as the Speaker of the State Assembly. Chief Minister Vinshu Dev Sai proposed to elect 71-year-old Raman Singh as the speaker, which was supported by Deputy CM Arun Sao. Raman Singh has won from Rajnandgaon seat four consecutive times in 2008, 2013, 2018 and 2023.

The government of Uttar Pradesh approved the opening of 57 cyber crime police stations in the state. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna said that the decision in this regard was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The government has approved setting up cyber crime police stations in 57 districts of the state including Ghaziabad, Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Hardoi, Kanpur Dehat, Etawah, Baghpat, Barabanki, Mainpuri and Rampur.
