1. (a) Geetika Kaul

Captain Geetika Kaul of Snow Leopard Brigade has created history by becoming the first woman medical officer of the Indian Army to be deployed in Siachen, the world’s highest battlefield. Earlier he had successfully completed induction training at the prestigious Siachen Battle School.    

2. (c) Vaishali Rameshbabu

Vaishali Rameshbabu has become the 84th Grandmaster of India, she achieved this feat by achieving 2500 rating points during the 2023 IV Allobregate Open. Vaishali has now become India’s third woman Grandmaster after Koneru Humpy and Harika Dronavalli. Vaishali and her younger brother R. Praggnanand’s pair is the first sister-brother pair to become Grandmasters.

3. (c) Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated a museum in the basement of the Platinum Jubilee Memorial Building in the West Bengal Assembly. This museum depicts the history of the Legislative Assembly, the functioning of the Legislative Council in pre-independence days and the transfer of power from the British. This museum is spread over 2000 square feet.

World Soil Day is celebrated every year on 5 December and its aim is to spread awareness about the importance of soil. The United Nations General Assembly officially designated 5 December 2014 as the first World Soil Day. This year’s theme is “Soil and Water: A Source of Life”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot Fort located in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. He also participated in the event organized on Navy Day 2023. To showcase the history of the Indian Navy, an exhibition was also organized on the occasion of Navy Day where several models of contemporary ships of Shivaji Maharaj were made.

India won three gold, five silver and one bronze medal on the last day of the IBA Junior World Boxing Championship 2023 in Yerevan, Armenia. Akansha won the gold medal in the 70 kg weight category, Pari won the gold medal in the 48 kg weight category, while Nisha won the gold medal in the 52 kg weight category. India had the maximum number of 12 finalists, but only three of them became world champions.
