Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India Energy Week 2024 in Goa, which is an important milestone in the country’s commitment to advance the energy sector. India Energy Week 2024 is being organized to reduce carbon footprint and promote green energy sources. More than 35,000 people, including more than 4,000 delegates from more than 100 countries, are participating in this event.

Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy laid the foundation stone of the country’s first Digital National Museum of Epigraphy at the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad. It is being established by the Archaeological Survey of India. About one lakh ancient inscriptions of different languages and periods will be kept in it.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the two-day ULLAS Mela at National Bal Bhawan, Delhi. The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education is organizing this program. Seven hundred participants from different states and union territories as well as more than 100 people from the Ministry of Education and various organizations are participating in this event.

BIMSTEC Aquatics Championships 2024 is being organized in New Delhi. Central Youth Program and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated this championship. The first BIMSTEC Aquatics Championship is being held from 6 February to 9 February 2024. BIMSTEC was established in the year 1997. This group includes 7 countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand).

The Ministry of Culture is preparing mapping and documentation of all the villages under the ‘Mera Gaon, Meri Dharohar’ (MGMD) programme. The National Mission on Cultural Mapping is being run in coordination with Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts (IGNCA) under the Ministry of Culture. A web portal on MGMD was also launched on July 27, 2023.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has presented the Uniform Civil Code in the Assembly. This bill will now be sent further to the Governor. After this bill is passed it will become a law. With this, Uttarakhand will become the first state in the country to implement UCC. The draft of the Uniform Civil Code has been prepared on the basis of the report of Justice Ranjana Desai Committee.

So far, 519 air routes are being operated across the country under the regional level air connectivity scheme (RCS) ‘Ude Deshka Aam Nagrik’ (UdeDeshkaAamNagrik-UDAN). Under the ‘Udaan’ scheme, 76 airports including 2 sea airports and 9 heliports are being operated. This scheme was launched in the year 2016.
