Communications, Railways and Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav launched government think tank NITI Aayog’s platform ‘NITI For States’, a digital public infrastructure. Along with this, he also inaugurated ‘Viksit Bharat Strategy Room’ in NITI Aayog.

Ravichandran Ashwin became the 14th player to play 100 test matches for India. He achieved this feat during the fifth Test against England at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. Ashwin, who made his Test debut against West Indies in New Delhi in 2011, has also become the first player from Tamil Nadu to play 100 Test matches. Apart from Ravichandran Ashwin, England’s Jonny Bairstow is also playing his 100th Test match for England.

Egypt has devalued its currency for the fourth time since the beginning of 2022, after a huge interest rate hike by the central bank. Egypt has devalued its currency by more than 35%. Egypt is a country connecting North-East Africa with the Middle East. Its capital is Cairo and its currency is the Egyptian pound.

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Wednesday entered into an agreement with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore to conduct joint research on blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Under this, focus will be on scalable blockchain platform and multi-modal analytics.

In the National Youth Parliament Mahotsav, 2024, Yatin Bhaskar Duggal of Haryana won the first prize, while Vaishna Pichai of Tamil Nadu won the second prize and Kanishka Sharma of Rajasthan won the third prize. 87 state-level winners gathered in New Delhi for the finals of the Youth Parliament.

6. (a) Minicoy Island

Indian Navy has established its new base “INS Jatayu” in Minicoy Island of Lakshadweep with an aim to enhance its operational capabilities in the Indian Ocean region. Earlier, the Navy had established INS ‘Dweeprakshak’ at Kavaratti, Lakshadweep. Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar inaugurated the second naval base in Lakshadweep.

7. (a) Meta

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog in collaboration with META has launched Frontier Technology Labs (FTL). Its objective is to empower the youth to innovate. So far, AIM has established 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) in schools in 722 districts of India.
