1. (a) Jagdeep Dhankhar

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the All India Campaign ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Samman’ to commemorate the 75th year of the Republic of India. This one year long campaign was started by Dr. Held from Ambedkar International Centre. This campaign is being run by the Justice Department, Ministry of Law and Justice. Along with this, ‘Nyaya Setu’ was also launched to provide an integrated legal interface for legal advice.   

2. (c) Suryakumar Yadav

India’s explosive batsman Suryakumar Yadav won the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award for the second consecutive year. Suryakumar performed brilliantly in T20I cricket this year also. He batted brilliantly against West Indies, Australia, South Africa and Sri Lanka. Suryakumar Yadav has scored the second fastest century for India in the men’s T20I against Sri Lanka.    

3. (b) Nisha Pahuja

Recently, the documentary film ‘To Kill A Tiger’ has been nominated for the 96th Academy Awards (Oscar 2024) in the Best Documentary Feature Film category. This documentary film is based on the story of a minor girl from Jharkhand. It is directed by Indian-Canadian filmmaker Nisha Pahuja. The winners of Oscar 2024 will be announced on March 10.

4. (b) Man Singh

Man Singh has become only the second Indian male athlete to win a gold medal in the Asian Marathon Championships. 34-year-old Man Singh won the gold medal with a timing of two hours, 14 minutes and 19 seconds. Gopi Thonakal was the first Indian male athlete to win the Asian Marathon Championship title in the year 2017.

BCCI Awards 2024 have been announced, this time this award function was organized in Hyderabad. The Pauly Umargar Award given for the best international cricketer (men) was won by Shubman Gill (2022-23), Jasprit Bumrah (2021-22), Ravichandran Ashwin (2020-21), Mohammed Shami (2019-20). Whereas Colonel C. Of. Naidu Lifetime Achievement Award was given to former cricketers Farokh Engineer and Ravi Shastri. This award show was organized after four years, the last time it was organized in the year 2019.

Every year ‘National Girl Child Day’ is celebrated on 24 January across the country. Its objective is to spread awareness about the rights of the girl child and the issues faced by them. This day was started in the year 2008. Currently, many schemes are running in the country to support the rights of girls, in which schemes like ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana’, CBSE Udaan Yojana, and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ are prominent.

7. (b) Bihar

Former Chief Minister of Bihar Karpoori Thakur will be honored with Bharat Ratna (posthumously). He was the Chief Minister of Bihar twice. It is noteworthy that 24th January is also the 100th birth anniversary of Karpoori Thakur. He was a leader who advocated the interests of backward classes. He was the Chief Minister of the state for the first time from December 1970 to June 1971. He was born on 24 January 1924 in Samastipur (Bihar).
