EWS Posts and Eligibility:
As per guidelines, EWS posts are not carried forward or considered as backlog vacancy in case unfilled. Hence, other category candidates may be allowed provisionally to apply for the post, subject to the condition that they will be considered for the post as a UR Candidate only if the EWS category seat is otherwise not filled.
Educational Qualification for Junior Resident Doctors:
- Medical qualification included in the Schedule – I & II of the 3rd Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part – II of the 3rd schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in section 13 (B) of the Act).
- Satisfactory completion of the compulsory internship.
- Candidate must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council.
Scale of Pay:
Level 10 of Pay Matrix with entry pay of Rs.56,100/- plus NPA and other allowances as admissible under rules.

General Information:
The applications for deputation from eligible officers in the prescribed application proforma (in duplicate) may
be forwarded through proper channel within 45 days from the date of publication of this advertisement in the
Employment News along with up to date APAR/ACRs for the last 5 years in original or photocopies duly attested,
Vigilance Clearance and Integrity Certificate. Cadre Controlling Authority may also kindly ensure that while
forwarding the applications, they should verify and certify that the particulars furnished by the officers are correct. It may also be

2.Applications for deputation received after the due date or without APAR/ACRs dossiers,

NEIGRIHMS was established by the Government of India in 1987. It has been designed as a Postgraduate Medical Institute in lineage of AIIMS, New Delhi and PGIMER, Chandigarh. It is the First Postgraduate Medical Institute in the North Eastern Region and the Third in the Country established by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The Institute was registered as a Society on 12th January 1987 by the Registrar of Societies, Meghalaya, Shillong under the name of : “North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences”. On January 22, 2000, then Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee declared NEIGRIHMS as an ‘Institute of National Importance’. The Institute was also declared as an “Institution of Excellence” by an Act of Parliament vide Gazette of India Notification dated 4th January 2007, the only Medical Institute that has been given such a status in the country.
