Officials in Kerala’s Kannur, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts have declared today a holiday for all educational institutions. The holiday was proclaimed after IMD issued an Orange alert for various districts in the state, including Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kasarkode. Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for the districts of Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Palakkad, Thrissur, and Malappuram in Kerala. However, there has been no change in the Kannur University PSC exams, according to a release.
The situation has been aggravated by heavy rains that hit Kerala and Lakshadweep on July 8. Despite this, Kannur University Public Service Commission (PSC) exams are still set to take place as scheduled, according to ANI.
Meanwhile, torrential rains fell in numerous sections of the national capital on Sunday evening, creating a flood-like condition in low-lying districts due to the swollen Yamuna River. Previously, the Yamuna River in Delhi crossed the hazardous mark again after a surge in flow from the Hathnikund Barrage into the river, raising the prospect of another flood in the city.
